What is Aptiv?
Aptiv is the name of an international technology company innovating at the intersection of breakthrough trends in the mobility industry. The company develops and manufactures a wide range of automotive components and active safety technology solutions for the global automotive and commercial vehicle markets.
In terms of visual identity, Aptiv is confident, laconic, and professional. The strength of the colors in the Aptiv logo is perfectly wordmark with the clean and bold shapes of the characters, accompanied by minimalistic graphical accents.
The old logo of the company, which today is known as Aptiv, was designed in the middle of the 1990s, for Delphi Automotive PLC. The composition was based on just one element — the stylized uppercase wordmark written in a bright shade of blue against a plain white background without any accompaniments. The extended characters and arched contours made the simple badge look interesting and recognizable.
After the company was renamed Aptiv, the new logo was introduced in the same year. Even though the lettering still plays the main role in the badge, the style and mood of the logo are completely different from the Delphi one. The uppercase “Aptiv” is written in a strong geometric sans-serif font with straight cuts of the bars, in plain black, and enclosed between two solid red dots, which add energy and power to the minimalistic image.
The bold uppercase lettering from the primary logo of the Aptiv company is set in a modern and strong sans-serif reface, which looks quite similar to such commercial fonts as Geon, Antique Olivetrade, or Annuario but with some minor modifications of the characters contours.
As for the color palette of the Aptiv visual identity, it is executed in a strong and bright black, red, and white tricolor, which looks progressive and stable and evokes a sense of excellence and stability.
