What is Air Serbia?
Air Serbia is the national flag carrier airline of Serbia. The air carrier, known today as AirSerbia, was established in the middle of the 20th century as JAT, so the first few logos featured the original name of the brand. The initial badge, designed in 1957, boasted bold white lettering in a slanted geometric sans-serif typeface, written across a solid red horizontally-oriented oval.
The redesign of 1994 has complicated the composition of the JAT logo, adding a graphical emblem and a lightweight tagline to the main wordmark. The bold blue lettering was accompanied by a blue, red, and white triangular emblem with a flame-like ornament on it. As for the tagline, it was “Yugoslav Airlines” in an elegant serif font, set in a light shade of gray.
In 2003 logo of the air carrier was redesigned more lightly and brightly, with the red and blue “JatAirways” inscription set in the title case of a traditional sans-serif typeface, followed by a minimalistic geometric emblem, composed of three solid dots — two blue ones and a red in the middle.
In 2013 JatAirways was renamed to AirSerbia, and the new logo was introduced. The new concept depicts a very elegant heraldic emblem with two stylized eagles, merging into a geometric ornament, placed on the left from the custom lettering in a bold and slanted designer typeface. Both elements are set in dark blue, looking very stylish and chic.
