Young Entrepreneurship (Ung Företagsamhet in Swedish) is an organization that aims to develop entrepreneurial skills and knowledge from a young age. It has a wide array of materials, guides, and other support channels to help students and teachers get access to entrepreneurial education. In fact, they get hands-on experience running a business and one can even get a scholarship. By giving young people an opportunity to learn how to develop and use their creativity, the organization aims to help people from all walks of life to have an opportunity for a better, happier life. Besides providing education to school children, the organization has a whole alumni network. All the efforts are sponsored by businesses and supported with public funds.
Meaning and History
The organization has been actively working in Sweden since 1980. The roots, though, can be traced to Massachusetts state in the US all the way back in 1919. Today, UF operates throughout Sweden and has influenced thousands of students. Lately, the organization has started involving younger (primary school) participants and claims to have teachers from over half of the schools in the country. The goal is to bring positive change to the communities through the inspiration of young people and the promotion of innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.
What is Ung Företagsamhet?
Ung Företagsamhet or Young Entrepreneurship is a non-profit educational organization that primarily works with high school students and young people. It allows them to develop and practice entrepreneurial and creative skills. Even if one does not end up running their own business, their chances of getting a job and having better opportunities after graduation are undeniable.
1980 – Today
The organization’s logo does not necessarily look appealing to the young audience. However, its bold and clean design sets the basis for professional development from the very start. It shows the seriousness and strength of the business sphere. The name is printed in white using all lowercase characters, which shows the focus on the youngest in society. In fact, the word “ung” (young in Swedish) is made extra-large. An improvised, abstract drawing of a kite to the right of the name gives the logo dynamics and hints at growth, innovation, and creativity. At the very bottom, it is noted that the organization is a member of JA Worldwide, where JA means Junior Achievement. The rounded corners of the square base give the logo a friendly touch.
Font and Color
A modern, geometric sans-serif font with clean lines has been used in this logo. It resembles a well-known font called Gill Sans Roman font. It looks balanced and professional because the characters are evenly spaced and sized.
The main color is black, with white used as a contrasting option that allows all the elements to stand out. Such a bold color palette choice made the logo stand out and gave it a professional and timeless appearance.
