Psycho Bunny is a contemporary menswear fashion brand that is world-famous for both its polo shirts and its slightly scary logo. Psycho Bunny was launched in New York in 2005 and in 2021 was bought outright by Montreal-based Alain Brandman of Thread Collective, the brand’s former outerwear licensee. So today, the company has two main offices, one in its historic homeland, New York, and a new one in Montreal.

Meaning and history

The fashion brand Psycho Bunny was founded in New York City in 2005 by a man named Robert Godley, who at that time had already been in the fashion industry for many years. Before founding his own brand, Godley was creative director at Ralph Lauren, responsible for the design of polo shirts.

British by birth and American by spirit, Robert Godley has managed to combine the style of both countries in his brand’s products. Psycho Bunny combines British meticulousness in tailoring with fresh American design. On the label of the brand’s products, two flags are placed side by side: American and British. Initially, the company was focused on the design and production of only premium men’s polo shirts. The garments were made in a factory in Peru from the highest quality cotton.

It is the quality of its products that the company is most proud of: today only the highest quality materials and fabrics are used in production: 100% Pima cotton from Peru with a silky texture, sheep’s wool from Scotland, cashmere from England, merino wool from Italy, etc.

Although over the years the brand has significantly expanded its line of clothing, even creating a special children’s collection, the trademark of Psycho Bunny to this day is polo shirts. Features of the Psycho Bunny polo include special vents on the sides, durable mother-of-pearl buttons, and the release of a new line of colors each season.

And, of course, one of the main features of the Psycho Bunny brand is their logo, depicting a stylized hare in a bright and dramatic color scheme. This emblem perfectly reflects the spirit of the company and its special style, which can be called classic casual.

2005 – Today

Psycho Bunny Logo

The fun Psycho Bunny logo, depicting a rabbit skull over two crossed bones, for the brand symbolizes the balance in life of combining individuality and adventure. The skull and crossbones combined with a bunny with pink ears sticking out represent the spirit of rebellion and freedom, as well as self-expression. The emblem is located in the center of the composition, between the two parts of the wordmark, written in classic serif typeface with elegant letterforms.

Font and color

Psycho Bunny Emblem

The bold fancy lettering from the primary logo of the Psycho Bunny fashion brand is set in the title case of an elegant serif typeface, which looks pretty similar to such commercial fonts as Calson Old Face Heavy, Century Old Style Bold, or Kis Classico Bold, with some minor modifications of the contours.

As for the color palette of the Psycho Bunny visual identity, it is based on the combination of black and white, with an addition of tender pink for the ears of the bunny, and this pink is what makes the badge super recognizable and eye-catching.
