The Worcester Red Sox, a professional Minor league baseball team, is updating its identity. They will reveal its new name and logo at Worcester’s Mercantile Center this Monday night. The ceremony will be televised live on the NESN.
Besides, the team, officially named as the Pawtucket Red Sox, and called as PawSox by its fans, move from Rhode Island to Massachusetts. A completely new ten thousand-seat ballpark is being built in Worcester for the team to play their home games. More details of the future event, that is scheduled on 2021, will also be revealed during the show.
According to the team president Charles Steinberg, choosing a name was a complicated process, they had to choose from over a hundred variants of suggested names. Along with the new identity the team is going to present new apparel for fans. The programme “Festive Reveal,” covering the significant for the team developments, will be broadcast at 7 p.m.
