Wichita Falls Warriors announce name and logo

Junior ice hockey is coming back to Wichita Falls two years after the Wichita Falls Wildcats failed to find a buyer and stopped playing in the North American Hockey League. Now, the new hockey team Wichita Falls Warriors, launched by the Dallas-based company Robbie Hockey LCC, will join NAHL for the 2020-21 season.

The name for the team was determined by online votation, and Marie Anne Choi, the team’s owner, mentioned the importance of the fact that the name was chosen by the Wichita Falls people themselves. She added that the name “Warriors” turned the clear leader after four finalist had been left.
Forming their identity, the Wichita Falls Warriors have also unveiled a logo selected through a design competition. The team’s badge in the orange and black colors, which will be used as a primary logotype, represents a shield with a warrior’s helmet depicted against the background of an outline of Texas. As Mrs. Choi said, the team wanted a professionally designed logo that would reflect it both on and off the ice.
For the 2020-21 season, the Wichita Falls Warriors will compete in the NAHL South division along with the teams from Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and Louisiana. It will play out of the Kay Yeager Coliseum.
