Riot Games redraws its logo

The American video game developer Riot Games, well-known for such games as League of Legends, Valorant and Wild Rift has updated its logo for the first time in its history. The goal of the rebranding is to provide a more consistent visual system.

Along with the logo refreshment announced this week, the company is launching a new media-oriented website. Riot Games will use the new visual identity for all its stock-keeping units, planning to make further renovations as a part of its new brand system throughout 2022.

Keeping the general design but in a light red color now, the emblem showcases some changes in the trademark and wordmark. Riot Games’ branded fist received a bit different proportions with sharper lines and corners slightly sloped to the left. The designing team chose a more traditional typeface for the wordmark, making both words of the company’s name equal size. Another remarkable thing about it is a small cut-out in the “T”.

According to an official press release, the company doesn’t change its mission with this rebranding, still aiming to be the world’s most gamer-oriented studio that improves the gaming culture. Entering its second decade, Riot Games felt it was time to refresh and broaden its visual identity for a long-term success
