The band was formed in Vegas in 2005 by bassist Zoltan Bathory and drummer Jeremy Spencer. Later, the lineup also included lead singer Ivan Moody and bassist Matt Snell. Then, other members joined them. Each of the participants already had extensive experience on stage. Their names were known in the professional community, so FFDP did not have to wander around pubs, giving local concerts to win fans. The first studio album was called The Way of The Fist and peaked at number 107 on the Billboard 200 in 2007. In 2010, the band went to Iraq and performed 10 concerts for American soldiers. The musicians are second after Elvis Presley to receive the prestigious Soldier Appreciation Award from the Association of the American Army a few years later. Now the rockers continue to delight fans with their work. According to Moody, the idea for the name belongs to Zoltan Bathory. It came to him while watching Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Part 2. According to the other version, it was inspired by the 1972 film The King of Boxing, released in the US under the title Five Fingers of Death.

The characters also have signs of wear. At the very top, the logo has the iconic knuckles symbol with the band’s initials placed on black circles. The overall design matches the rough FFDP aesthetics.
2009 – 2011
This version has an ornate and striking design. The knuckles symbol has been slightly perfected and placed at the very top of the logo just like in the previous version. The top line has a black, rectangular base with spikes going in different directions. It features a clean, bracketed slab serif font and all caps. The bottom line became the star of the logo. It uses a stylized Old English style font with white lettering on a black background that repeats the shape of the characters. To match the top line and knuckles icon, the black outline also got spikes.
2013 – Today
As the band presented The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, they had a new logo design. It uses a bold, sans-serif font very similar to the one in the original version. Just like in the logo created in 2009, the top line is notably smaller than the bottom one. The metallic golden finish with a worn-out effect is what sets this logo apart from the other logos. It is meant to blend the glamour of heaven and the darkness of hell. It is also worth noting that there is no more knuckles icon, which has been with the band from the very start.

The debut album features a bold, sans-serif font similar to the Wearetrippin Display font and Bebas font. The second album featured an Old English font style. A bold, strong, and condensed font has been used since 2013. It is very similar to the font chosen for the first album.
