Skrillex Logo PNG
The real name of the US-based electronic dance music producer, DJ, and author of songs Skrillex is Sonny John Moore. He started his solo career at the end of 2007.
Meaning and history
Before beginning his solo career, the musician took part in recording 2 studio albums with the band From First to Last. He started using the name Skrillex as his pseudonym in 2009.
2010 – Today
The original Skrillex logo, designed in 2010, is still used by the musician, along with the newest version. It is a stylized black and red logotype, set is a designer font with elongated bars, straight cuts of the lines and distinctive angles of the geometric uppercase characters. The three vertical lines with diagonally cut ends, representing the “ill” part of the wordmark, are set in red, creating a graphical accent on the badge.
2023 – Today
In 2023 the popular musician has introduced a new version of his badge, which is based on the original version, and repeats its color palette and the main idea, but uses a different style of a typeface. The new lettering is executed in a more difficult in shapes and a more rounded font, with the shade of red elements a bit darker, and creating a dramatic mood.
Symbol
The logotype represents a wordmark made up by capital letters. Each letter has a unique shape. The combination of “I” and “LL” is arguably the highlight of the wordmark. The characters given in red are sometimes used on their own as the DJ’s icon.
OWSLA emblem
The OWSLA label, which was announced by Skrillex in 2011, has a very successful logo. Skrillex even tattooed it on his arm. At first glance, the symbol may look as a mere combination of geometric shapes, unless you know the real clue. As the author of the logo, Brandon Rike, explained, you can find every letter of the word OWSLA within the logotype (the “A” is upside down).
Font
The letters of the custom typeface look jagged and sharp, which perfectly resonates with the Skrillex’s music.
Color
Typically, the Skrillex logo is a combination of black and white letters against the white background. However, quite a few alternative color combinations can be used, too.
